It Is Time

It is time for an important Thought. I have not yet fully mapped human sexuality to the Codex, and in this Crimson City context we need it more than ever.

Human sex does not cleanly map to a single Elemental. Instead, all Elementals are mappable to sex to different extents.

Sex is a Circle.

Below are the Elementals at play during sexual interactions. I listed them roughly in order of relevance.

Sex as Liquid Water

E4: The Water Elemental is fundamental in any sexual encounter. Crimson would have you believe “sex without emotions is possible”.

Obviously, there is no greater nonsense than that. Even if you convince yourself you can have sex without feelings, your River will absolutely merge with that of your sex partner. There is no way around it.

You can choose to act cold. You can call it casual. You can say it was only bodies. You can leave before morning, avoid the eye contact, make the joke, close the door, wash the sheets.

But the River stays.

If you don’t want River mergers, do not have sex.

During sex, your River-Dweller bonds to the Dweller of your partner. Not forever, but there is always some residue. From a Codex lens, you “exchange” a bit of your soul. You take in the River of your partner, and they take in yours.

This is not a moral threat. It is just the liquid nature of the act. Sex makes contact deeper than the skin admits.

Interesting to note that female eggs map cleanly to E4.

Sex as an Image

E3: Eye-1 mostly plays a role in the aesthetic and mental aspect of sex. E3 sets the attraction and rouses arousal when there is a connection.

Sex starts before touch. A glance. A curve. A posture. A colour. A scent imagined before it is known. The mind receives an image and the body answers before the polite little social mask can decide what to do.

That first spark is not yet the motor. It is the picture that opens the gate.

Sex as a Motor

E5: Where E4 is the unconscious sexual driver, the Fire Elemental is the conscious motor. E5 will amplify the E3 and E4 connection through teasing, play, sexual expression, and “being hot”.

When you feel horny, that’s E5 pressure.

Fire pushes the encounter forward. It leans in. It performs. It teases. It dares. It says the sentence that makes the room change temperature.

Without E5, sex can remain a River in the distance. With E5, the River starts burning.

Sex as a Body

E2: the Stone Elemental relates to sex in that the body is breached during sex. Sex demands you to open the deepest layer of defense: your Stone Tower.

Stone plays an important role for consent. Sex breaches Stone, so consent before and during sex is crucial.

Rape is one of the most intense breaches of Stone sovereignty. It goes deeper than physical or mental violence because sex touches more Elementals than both. If you rape someone, you can destroy every layer of their Tower, Wall, Trap and Current.

This is why sex cannot be treated as a small thing. Even when it is playful, even when it is casual, even when it is brief, Stone has opened.

Sex as Ice

E8: Ice plays another fundamental role as E4’s extension of the Strange Texture. When you breach a body, slight pain is inevitable.

Penetration is icy.

And the Ice will strengthen the River-Dweller meeting and the E5 explosion. This is where kinks come from; they freeze the sexual interaction through pain, shame or disgust. This is why “wrong” sex can feel so arousing.

The edge matters. The forbidden edge. The dangerous edge. The little shiver where the body says no and yes in complicated languages that require trust, intelligence, and a very careful hand.

Sex is also our greatest addiction. We are built with arousal mechanisms that drive us to seek orgasm. We can be easily Ice Trapped through seduction.

Crimson played into the Icy nature of sex: we should be ashamed to be so sexual. Crimson wants us to hide penises, vulvas, and breasts. A little bit of shame, fear and insecurity, and the Crimson City is all the happier for it.

I do not advocate for the removal of Ice from sex. That would be very boring sex. I hope we stop shaming without reason though — too much Ice and people are just sexually frozen.

I hope each Earthborn learns to integrate Ice consciously in sex. Instead of feeling ashamed, you should feel terrifyingly sexy.

Integrate the Ice, and at the climax soak your partner in E4.

Sex as Truth

E1: the Light Elemental relates mostly to sex in the context of the continuity of Life. Sex allows us to reproduce and further the light of Life. Semen maps cleanly to White.

There is a naked Truth in sex, even when no child is conceived. The body admits Life wants to continue. Desire carries an ancient brightness inside it.

Sex as Skill

E6: When we speak of a skilled sexual lover, you’re speaking of someone who has integrated E6 into their sexual practices.

Skill is not a list of tricks. Skill is attention, timing, adjustment, learning, patience, curiosity, memory, and the humility to notice what actually works instead of performing what Crimson told you should work.

Earth Coin enters sex when the lover cares enough to refine.

Sex as Gold

E9: The Gold Elemental is mostly interesting as an extension of E1 and E5. E9 signals fertility, the presence of E1 and E5. Big dick energy, huge boobs, fat ass, etc. We get the idea.

Gold is an amplifying signal of the Radiant Texture.

It is not the whole of sex. Obviously not. Overly fertile signals can be very impractical. The quest for bigger and bigger can easily turn one hollow.

Sex as Dust

E10: The Dust Elemental’s role is more abstract. Sex functions as a maker of structure by the meeting of River-Dwellers: we often make monogamous couples. Sex seals the contract.

Another flavour of Dust in sex is the role it plays in dominance-submissiveness themes, fueling the E5 dynamic.

Dust appears when the moment becomes structure. A repeated bed. A private ritual. A role. A bond. A contract spoken or unspoken.

Sex as Eyes

The remaining Loose Textures E7 and E11 play minor roles. E7 is mostly relational and bound to public image. Sex shapes our social position through E7.

E11 might be the most asexual Elemental; it has almost nothing to do with sex on the surface. Except the Codex wouldn’t be the Codex if there was not some hidden relationship.

Introducing E11 in sex means a pause, a withholding, an inhibition, an unexpected twist.

Paradoxically, withholding sex can be very arousing. “Playing hard to get” is basically throwing E11 in the seduction game. This is because the Elemental acts onto the other Elementals within the Constant Temperature quadrant (E2, E5, E8).

The pause matters. The hand that almost moves. The message not sent. The eye contact held one second too long. The interruption that makes the whole body listen.

And on a higher level, there is something very sexy about someone with a strong Vision — they can mentally predict how you’ll feel very well.

Sex as Void

E12: This one is an extension of the Strange Texture of E4 and E8. Good sex with a skilled lover will feel like a prayer. It has that out-of-body-into-the-Void experience.

Someone with a good Water-Ice-Void cycle will make sex feel divine. This is not strange if you see it through a River-Dweller lens. People with a flowing Water-Ice-Void cycle have an integrated River-Dweller.

Exchanging with them can feel like exchanging with World Tree itself.

Not supernatural magic — just alignment, Magic Blue.

Timeseers are sexier than your favourite pornstar because they're the real thing.

Where Radiant Meets Strange

When you look back at the mapping above you should see that sex is mostly driven by the Radiant cycle (E1, E5, E9) meeting the Strange cycle (E4, E8, E12).

Radiant gives the signal, the heat, the brightness, the fertility, the push.

Strange gives the River, the breach, the edge, the dissolution, the prayer.

Orgasm maps to the Bridge principle, that mysterious moment when Void becomes Light.

This is why the Codex considers sex as holy.

Sexual Codex Practices

Now for the fun part, here are some practices derived from personal experience and long hours of Codex study. They all also have a more or less sciency basis, but I am not here to write an academic paper on their proven effectiveness in percentages.

Masturbation

Masturbation is good in the Codex, no Christian worries here.

Do touch yourself.

Masturbation is beneficial because it can access sexual pathways without having to merge Rivers with another human being. You can safely explore your Stone, your Fire and most importantly your own River!

Too much Fire (E5) build-up can make one… frustrated… Angry, quick to react, tense — not fun.

A good rule of thumb for the need to release tension can be based on a simple age formula:

• In your teens (10s): once a day.
• In your twenties (20s): once every other day.
• In your thirties (30s): once every 3 days.
• In your forties (40s): once every 4 days.
• (…)
• In your seventies (70s): once a week.

Obviously, this is a very broad guideline that respects the natural state of aging Stone. It may differ for individuals. It is not a law. If you like guidelines, this one is easy to follow.

Abstinence

Abstinence is good in the Codex, Christian worries respected. Just like release can expend too much E5, abstinence can build E5.

You can use this E5 to feel youthful, energetic, and creative. It can boost confidence and self-expression. Just watch the balance and masturbate if you feel too wired.

Nowadays, we seem to have this balance totally wrong…

Many are releasing too often. Some multiple times a day, at every strange little itch. They feel empty, and we know why. They keep spending any E5 their body produces…

Sad…

Then there is another extreme, the “no fap” movement. Some of the releasers above realise their emptiness and go on to build an enormous amount of E5 for weeks. Obviously, bad idea.

Sure, they feel energised for a month. Never had their body owned so much E5. Aside from the silly decisions they might make under the influence of Fire, their idea is flawed because the system will collapse as soon as they return to normal.

Swinging from one extreme to the other is not comfortable.

Porn

Ah la la… I have bad news here.

Porn is not very good for a fulfilled sex life…

Bear with me.

Your brain cannot make a difference between the video and reality on some level. That is why you get aroused from it — your brain thinks it is inside the video.

But strangely, the brain also knows it is a video because there is no River merging happening whatsoever. Like sex but without the soul-binding aspect that makes it so sweet.

If you watch porn 3 times a day, you thwart your E3: your images of sex become unrealistic. Furthermore, sex becomes soulless as there is little to no E4 in most porn scripts. Just pure Fire with a sprinkle of Ice.

Porn is a Crimson product par excellence, and more often than not, it is an Ice Trap to extract Stone from you. You get a hot preview, the promise of wonders, blood rushes, and there goes your credit card number…

Porn is not inherently bad. But you should be aware of its mechanisms. Watch it once a week instead of every day. Consciously choose something that is not click-bait garbage.

Maybe look at other types of porn that leave more space for your imagery: literature, comics, a Blood-Heart song, etc.

Or even better yet, just imagine your own porn.

Much hotter once you start getting the scenarios you could only dream of.

Full System Sex

Most sex nowadays is… poor.

Sorry.

It has something almost mechanical for many people. A few E5 pumps, a glimpse of E12, and that was it. Done in a minute, darling.

Tsk tsk tsk.

The Codex would ask you to integrate everything, Timeseer. Sex is the playground where you can show all your Timeseer tricks ;).

Use foreplay, teasing, ALL erogenous zones, share your silly thoughts for some E3, and love the person you’re fucking. Perhaps not as a romantic partner, but as a human being.

Let the Circle participate. Let the image rise. Let the Water move. Let Fire press. Let Stone open safely. Let Ice sharpen without freezing. Let Earth learn. Let Gold signal. Let Dust hold. Let the Eyes pause. Let Void open.

Then see what happens.

Poly-stuff

Yeah, again an unpopular conclusion… Sex with multiple people at the same time is predicted to be very messy in Codex terms.

It is simple math. One River merging with another is already intense. Now multiply that and compound it. Any existing friction will get amplified in a triangle, or other polygonal figure. You’re not dealing with one River anymore.

For any long-term relationship, poly-stuff is destabilising. Not wrong. Not a sin. Just harder to do right. Orgies are not forbidden. Just harder to metabolise properly.

The instability can be mitigated by integration. If all participants are fully integrated Timeseers, there will be less risk of destabilisation. They can handle multiple currents. But even for them, it stays intense and messier.

If you disagree with me and love open relationships and poly-stuff, I invite you to self-reflect and examine if “feeling hot” and “feeling good” mean the same thing.

Hookup Culture

Again, mweh, a little Codex bummer. Just like for poly-stuff, having a lot of sex with strangers is likely to get messy for you.

While it may feel good on the surface, I ask you to consider what’s happening under it. If you feel empty, ashamed, very insecure, needy, or heartless, you should probably stop hooking up with strangers.

Personally, I don’t enjoy tasting the icy shadows of random people. And I like the flood of E4 that is just much harder to get with a total stranger.

The Circle Meditation

This practice I adapted from Eastern philosophies, tantra and Taoist practices. Of the many “techniques” I have tried, this one works infallibly for me.

During arousal, feel a circular current of energy move through your body. The direction is very important.

• Start at the lower belly. This is the real sexual centre of your body, not your genitals.
• Pull it through the genitals and your root to your lower back.
• Let it rise along your spine like a coiling serpent.
• It hits the crown of your head.
• Put your tongue tip against the top of your mouth to pull the energy down through the face. It feels like a waterfall.
• Then through the throat, along the chest, back into the lower belly.

Try to complete this mental circle at least once per sexual interaction.

It works. *insert your favourite hedge here*

Final Words

I hope this Thought has brought a bit of clarity.

I wish to see more Crim Crimson people. Those who know how to master Red through the whole system.

It would be nice if we can break the sad Crimson sex loop together. But if not, it will at least make you stronger and last longer.
